HARMONY XL PRO™ Tattoo Removal

Harmony XL Pro™ can be used on all skin types and tattoos; however, prior to treatment a consultation will be carried out where you will be asked to give informed consent, and a test patch will be carried out at least 24 hours before your first treatment.

The Harmony XL Pro™ Tattoo Removal system is clinically proven to be both safe and effective. It is always advisable to have these procedures performed by a skilled and trained medical professional to ensure a safe outcome. The procedure itself uses approved technologies and any concerns can be discussed with Mediface Aesthetics’ medically trained team, prior to treatment.

Tattoo removal can be moderately painful however it is a very quick treatment. We usually say that if you were able to have a tattoo, you will be able to handle tattoo removal. A medium or large tattoo can be treated in a matter of minutes.

During treatment, you will feel a hot zapping sensation which will only last while the area is being treated. This can be likened to the sensation of a hot elastic band being snapped against the skin. There may be some heat in the area following treatment, but this will dissipate quickly. Each treatment becomes less painful as we break down the pigment throughout the duration of your course of sessions.

Developing any adverse reactions from undergoing this treatment is very rare, as the treatment is tailored to suit the individual needs of the patient. It is always recommended that the patient disclose any health information or details about their medical history to the team at Mediface, during the pre-treatment consultation, to minimise the risk of developing any complications.

Following tattoo removal with Harmony XL Pro ™ you may get some blistering, scabbing, swelling and heat sensation in the treated area. Although this may look worrying it is a normal occurrence with tattoo removal and will disappear. Dry or paraffin gauze dressing may be used to cover the area if needed but this is mainly to keep the area safe from clothes rubbing against the area. You should let the area heal and avoid touching it. 

In your first few sessions, there will be some frosting. This happens when the cells holding the ink pigment rupture, water is released from the skin and rises to the surface causing the frosting. This is temporary and can be wiped away gently after treatment. It does not affect your treatment nor is it necessary to have frosting for the treatment to be effective.

You should keep the treated area clean and ensure clothes do not rub against it. You should avoid hot baths or other extremes of temperature for 48 hours. Swimming, sun and sunbeds should be avoided in between treatments and until the area is fully healed and you must not scratch or pick at the skin as this may cause an infection.
